Is it okay to use Grammarly Prompt for writing college essays?

There's a relatively new thing on Grammarly called Grammarly Prompt, and I was just wondering if it counts as AI usage/cheating. It fits nicely into my writing and sounds like something I would've written, but I don't want to use it if it counts as cheating.

This is a really good question! I would love to hear people's thoughts on using AI like Grammarly for college essays.

I think it's ok to use Grammarly as a tool as long as it's still your style of writing and you're using your own judgment for its marks since it's definitely not always accurate. Think of it as asking a parent for help on homework vs. asking them to do the hw for you and turning it in without looking at their work. There's really nothing to catch, worst case scenario is you might come across as a subpar writer. I think Chat GPT gets caught because it writes a lot of fluff and word salad - it lacks conciseness and needlessly restates points. And of course, that makes the tone of the writing robotic.
