Is being a newspaper staff good?

I am already art commissioner, NAHS (art honor society) historian, and got a national award. Do you think being part of art department in newspaper staff in school is good for college?

If you are going into journalism or English I’d recommend if not it’s do I really care about this to spend x hours a week?

If it has some connection to your major then go for it. Or if art is something you are really passionate about but do not want to pursue it in college still go for it. Usually admissions officers want to see that you are spending your time doing ECs that are meaningful to you and have some connection to what you want to study.

Also as a photography major you should try to be the chief photographer or a newspaper position relating to photography.

I'm not exactly photography major, but I am still interested in photography and majoring in fine art(painting and stuff)!

Then yes also look into political cartoons opportunities thought doesn’t have to be political in nature(just called that)
