Admissions Advice

My question is for the adopted people because I´m adopted as well and I was wondering how the free college works?

With being adopted the state you were adopted in provides you free college. I heard that it only will work if you went to a public college. I am coming to the end of my high school career, so I was wondering how it will work. I am hoping there are others who have the same question as me or if anyone knows the answer to my question. I want to start applying and seeing where I could apply. If the state doesn't provide the aide for private colleges I have to take those out of my applying list. Thank you so much in advance for helping me!
