Admissions Advice

If I’m not in the top of my class will I still have a good chance of getting into my states top universities?

I have worries about not being ranked very high in my class because there are so many people who have done well throughout high school in my class. I’m fine with not being at the top of my class but I’m worried about how colleges are going to see my rank.

Your class rank isn't everything. It will help, as colleges might think it is impressive, but it isn't the most important thing. Right now, just try to focus on your grades. Grades matter the most, and it is also good to have extracurriculars like sports or clubs, if offered at your school.

Remember that not everyone who starts "at the top" continues that way throughout their lives. Many geniuses struggled in school. Grades are important, but they don't determine everything.

I would just focus on doing your best in your classes. Rank is not everything- GPA, coursework, test scores, essays, ECs, and letters of recommendation are evaluated together wholistically. If you want more specific help, comment and just list your GPA, # of APs, honors, etc., test scores (if have), and the schools you are concerned about. I'll be able to give a more accurate answer.
