Should I do credit recovery?

I am a junior and currently have a 4.0 UW GPA but I don’t think it will stay that way by the end of the semester. My grade in AP Calc is a low B. The problem is not that I don’t understand. In fact, I always participate in class and know what’s going on. The problem is the tests, which most of the class is also struggling with because the class average for our last test was 45% (our teacher is known to give out harder tests and grades very hard). Should I re take the class online for $700 to keep my 4.0 (I will pay with my own money)? Colleges will see both grades on my transcript. Is it worth using the money for credit recovery instead of saving that money for college tuition?

That is a very good question...Mind answering a few questions so I can consider your situation?

1) What other math classes have you taken?

2) What grades did you get in those math classes?

One option (less expensive normally) is to take a community college calculus class. They are often offered in the summer and are normally cheaper for hs students. You could take it online and through that prove your abilities. It may be cheaper and/or easier. Also, taking it in the summer means you are not cramming it into next year/semester. Just a thought for you to consider.
