if i am good at writing can writing articles,essays on websites count as extracurriculars in ivy league colleges?

I am in grade 10 . I am from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School , India. If the answer to the above question is yes, then which websites should they be?

Yes, if you enter prestigious contests. You can also make your own blog/website to post your writing. Your extracurriculars would be the awards you win from having your work published/winning medals. You can also look at essay contests which I didn’t list here but just a quick google search will find some.

CONTESTS: there are SO MANY but these are the most prestigious

- scholastic art and writing awards

- apprentice writer

- youngarts

- adroit journal

MAGAZINES: submit to magazines like

- scholastic

- teenink

- locust

NEWSPAPERS: if you write an Op-Ed it could be published

- newsday

- nyt

- washington post

- any local newspaper!!


- use wix or blogspot to make your website for free :)

Agreed also Wordpress is a good website too

Wix and squarespace is another website template you can use. Many options just have to pick the style you like.

Crsgo mentioned wix @hraj but I’m pretty sure squarespace costs money. I’m not sure tho so I didn’t mention it
