AP Precalculus
Answered

Hi!

This year I'm taking advanced pre-cal, but my school didn't offer the new AP Precalculus course and I didn't know about it, so I didn't register for the AP exam. Is it okay that I'm not taking the AP Precalculus exam? I'm taking AP Calculus BC next year, but I won't be able to get college credit for pre-cal.

Thank you!

I'm pretty sure that someone can take an AP Exam without taking the course (or in your case, doing the course but not the exam.) You can take the exam even though you wouldn't be enrolled in the course next year. You can just say that you self-studied for the exam. I think you can still get college credit. I would recommend talking to your math teacher and/or counselor about doing this. Hope this helps!
