Didn't take precal during highschool - but some colleges I'm applying to require it
Answered

I'm taking algebra 2 my senior year (class of 2024), and some of the colleges I'm applying to require precal-- will I even be considered? Are my chances destroyed?

I've explored taking CLEP exams to get caught up in my coursework, but some of the colleges I'm interested in don't accept CLEP credits.

Another option would be to take the course at my local community college over the summer, and notify the college I'm applying to beforehand. I don't even know if that's acceptable, let alone for more selective schools.

Any Advice?

Taking a course at you local community college is definitely acceptable and most colleges should have no issue with that. You could take it during the school year if you are willing to split the time with your regular course work. It would depend on how selective of a school you are looking at. Even some top schools will accept community college credits though many limit how many credits you can get from there.
