Hi! Im a currently a sophomore and I have to pick wha APS I want to take for junior year. My school limits us to only taking 3 aps per year. Currently I am taking APWH.
These are the APs I would like to take next year:
Ap Lit
Ap precalc or ap calc ab
Ap chem
These are the other aps that my school offers to juniors:
Ap Seminar
Ap CSP
Ap Bio
Ap Psychology
Aphg
Apush
Ap art history
The major I want to go towards is more stem based. So something like comp sci. However I don’t want to take anymore history aps and apcsp is an online course which replaces my math class so I don’t think I would like to take that as well and seminar replaces science so..
pls let me know if these aps are good!!
Based on your STEM focus and preferences, AP Lit, AP Calc AB, and AP Chem seem like solid choices for your junior year.
I am also a sophomore planning for junior year. I am planning on taking AP U.S History, AP Psychology, AP Research, AP Language, Anatomy and Physiology Honors, and Pre-Cal DE so I would say just take whatever interest you the most. I am taking Seminar this year and while it is hard, I have heard from many who have taken it before that it is very, very helpful in college... so maybe consider that.
At my school, it's not ideal to skip precalc and go straight into calculus, so I would definitely talk to those teachers and current teacher to pick which one you should do. I wouldn't take a seminar since you want to go into stem, and it would replace your science course. If you want to go into comp sci, you should definitely take a higher level computer science course before you apply to college.
Hey! I'm currently a junior. These aps are good! I took AP psychology, AP human geography, AP environmental science, AP United States Gov. So far psych and human geo were my fav! you have a good list of Aps. The course load for those is not too bad so I'm sure you will be fine!
Good luck!
