Hello!
I'm currently planning to go into the career path of Computer Science and Economics, and i wasn't sure if i should double major/ dual degree/ or have a major and minor. Please let me know your opinions on which ones I should do, and if these 2 majors are a good pathway.
Also if you say major and minor, please let me know which one should i major in and which one should i minor in.
Thanks :)
This depends on your situation. Which area (CS or Economics) do you see yourself getting into? Which do you find more interesting? Also, double majors are hard work. If you want less stress/pressure, a major and minor may be the way to go. It is very important to balance your mental health. Taking on too much can be unhealthy and cause you to miss the college social life experience. If you don't mind and enjoy hard study, then it should be fine.
I also recommend talking with the admissions counselor at the college you are considering double-majoring at. Find out what the workload difference is, what kind of jobs you can get upon graduation, and just get some general advice and information on the double-major.
I can't really tell you what to major or minor in because I don't know what area you are most passionate about nor what you want to do for life. If your career ideas are very general right now and you don't know the answers to those questions, do some exploring. Discover what areas of CS and economics fascinate you- what could you see yourself doing for the rest of your life and still like it? Or maybe you want to be flexible and so you have more job options.
Hope this helps you. Please lmk if you have any questions!
