Should I study in Puerto Rico or study in the US?
Answered

Hello, my name is Carlos and I study in American Military Academy (Puerto Rico). I’m currently in a situation where my father wants me to study in Puerto Rico so I can spend more time here. I do not mind where I can study. I have a gpa of 3.07, which is in my favor when applying to other universities. My doubts are especially financial aid, the campus, the society. I would be open to do so, but I still need to have those things in mind. Yet, my father is still adamant on wanting me to stay in Puerto Rico. What should I do? I also need friends!!!!

PS: I know other universities have requirements higher than a 3.0 gpa.

Hi Carlos! I'd try to answer these questions to help make your decision: Where do you see yourself in the future, living on the mainland or living in PR?

Do any specific schools in Puerto Rico stand out to you? How about schools on mainland US, and do they offer the program/major you're interested in studying?

It's really personal decision! Just remember degrees from the US are typically accepted in PR, and vice versa.
