hi! in my school, ap us history is super super hard---and it's known to destroy people's gpa's and willpower. i want to be a lawyer when i'm older so i'm taking ap lang. is it worth it to take ap us history from an admissions standpoint(not on if it actually teaches you things) if you sacrifice your gpa for it? i would probably take anothe AP class instead of it if i don't take it.
yes--admission officers like to see 2 things on a students transcript
1. taking the most challenging courses available
2. succeeding in those courses
a B+ in APUSH is much more impressive than an A in reg/honors USH. additionally, the ap rigor could give your gpa a boost if you pass with an A. however, if you feel as if you might not be able to succeed in APUSH, then consider your other options in which you see yourself triumphing
Hi!
Oh my gosh is it worth it. Before this year, I detested history. And yes, it does come down to your teacher, but the amount of useful information in the class is great. Especially for courses like AP Lang, where it gives plenty of outside evidence for essays and such.
