I live in the Eastern Shore/New England area, and I am looking for colleges with good pre-med degrees, but everytime I try and google search all I get are Ivies. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely applying for some Ivies (like UPenn and Columbia), but I also want Match/Safety schools too! The most I have so far are University of Maryland and the university my dad works at, and they're both listed as safeties. I don't want to apply for Ivies, get rejected, and then have nowhere to go. If anyone needs info, I have a 3.91 unweighted GPA, 1340 PSAT, and I have good extracurriculars (President of a Teen Advisory Board, Manager for two Varsity sports, you get the drift). I am also in music and theatre and would like to go to a school that at least has a marching band and some type of theatre program. If anyone can help me out, id be really grateful!!
I totally understand the struggle of wanting to go for a strong Pre-Medical program, but not in unrealistic schools. For this, these schools are normally good safeties: University of Washington (UDubb), Augustana College, Hofstra, Lehigh University, Clemson University, University of Maryland, and Rensselaer polytechnic institute (RPI). However I do apologize, as for a lot of these schools I could not find information on their marching band, but I do believe most have one at their respective university.
As an academic advisor, I emphasize that several outstanding pre-med programs exist beyond Ivy League institutions. Schools like Johns Hopkins, Duke, and Stanford offer exceptional pre-med curricula, renowned faculty, android course in kerala and ample research opportunities. Students should prioritize factors like faculty support, resources, and clinical experiences when selecting their pre-med program.
