Specific College Questions
Answered

Hello!

I have the fortunate opportunity to be getting my Associates Degree before I graduate high school. I know it is getting a little more popular or common, but I do not know where to put that in my profile. I do not know if I should put it in as an "Extracurricular" but that does not seem right, because I am spending my school time on it.

Are you asking about where to put this on your Collegevine profile or a college application? just so I know how to help :)

my mom is an admissions officer and she says to put it in the honors and achievements section of the common application (it's before the activities section). :))

Unfortunately, Collegevine does not have a place for that info in your profile :( but you can put in how many college classes you have taken. Not getting an associates, but I did that with my dual enrollment classes.

Hope this helps!

It's great that you're earning an Associate's Degree alongside your high school diploma! This accomplishment demonstrates your dedication to academics and your ability to handle college-level work. You're right that it doesn't fit neatly into the "Extracurricular" category.

When completing your college applications, you should mention your Associate's Degree in multiple sections. First, include it in the education section of your application, where you list your high school. Additionally, you can discuss this accomplishment in your personal statement or supplemental essays, as it can provide context for your academic journey and showcase your commitment to learning.

Have you started working on your personal statement or essays? If so, have you considered discussing your dual enrollment experience in them?
