82% in CBSE boards good enough?

I got 82% in my senior year CBSE. I have heard than in extra information section I can explain my grades since I had to take care of my baby brother and my another brother who is a special child. If my extracurriculars are strong and hypothetically if I have a perfect SAT score, with few international awards, good CLEP scores, and good essays. My grades would hinder? Throughout high school I had an upward trend for grades. My freshman year I got I think in sixties, sophomore year 84%, junior - 77% and senior 82%

i don't think...it will affect much...but college admission officers love to see improvement and consistency...you might have some problems with the top ranked Universities/colleges...but overall you have to score exceptionally well in the SAT/ACT, your language proficiency test and APs/IBs (if you take, i suggest you do) and have a good list of awards ad honours...

grades are just the gateway to it...but are important...

and you also need to have compelling essays and extra curriculars to show that you are committed and determined...and it shows your effort too...

hope it helps...best of luck!
