How does karma work?
The system is simple: you receive karma (sort of like a credit) when you help others. If you're short on karma, you can do any of the following to earn more:
- 1 karma for each 👍 upvote on a question you post
- 1 karma for each 👍 upvote on an answer you post
if your answer is marked accepted
- 10 karma for reviewing an essay
- 10 karma if your essay review is rated 5 ⭐️
You can then use your karma to submit an essay for review or guarantee an expert answer on Q&A.
The “tier” of an activity is defined specifically within the context of what that type of activity is. This means tier G sports and tier G competing groups like MUN or Debate are perceived differently. However, like Max said they’re generally the same in membership - tier G is pretty low ranking and is essentially when you are just a member of a club/team but you don’t do much other than participate and maybe you’ve competed in a couple competitions but not won awards. An example would be participating in the school newspaper by writing one article a month but not being a section editor or major contributor.
So it’s different for each activity but a Tier G is likely an activity that is well recognized but is not at the highest level. An example would be part of a team that won state but you weren’t the MVP or any other big award. It can also be president of a large club at school.
TLDR it’s significant recognition but either not individual or it’s individual school wide.
Hope this helps and please comment if you need clarification as I’d be happy to help clarify!
