Contacts Section
Answered

Hi, I'm a little confused as to how you're supposed to fill out the Contacts section of a college's Common App questions. Is it better to enter more "contacts"? Who counts as a contact? Do you have to actually know them or can it just be a student or professor you emailed/texted with a few times about the school or something related to the school? Clarification would be great--thanks!

Hi there! Could you give a little more clarification? It sounds like this is something for a particular school on the Common App, and not on the main Common App. What exactly is the prompt?

Yes, it's for specific schools--there are several of them. It's usually something like this: "How have you learned about Tufts/SMFA at Tufts? List in order of influence." and then it gives options to enter staff members/students/campus visits/website etc

Thanks for clarifying! This is more of a marketing-related question than anything else. The school just wants to know how you learned about them, so they can better understand how their marketing is working. Having more people listed won't help or hurt. You don't have to personally know the person, so listing a student or professor is fine!
