Currently finishing up my year as a high school freshman, and I kind of realized a little late that I have some potential in math.
Unfortunately for me, I don't have the most impressive stats (though I can certainly expect some to come with time). Here is what I have right now:
- approx. 3.6 GPA unweighted
- finishing Alg 2, though I've already finished the material for AP Calc AB when I take it next year
- 1st place district in UIL Number Sense (mental mathematics)
- taken the SAT, expecting 1500+ and 750+ in math when I get scores
And here is what I have planned to do:
- get a tutor
- go to AMC in November (unsure on 10 or 12 as of now, depends on how skilled I am by then)
- if i'm skilled enough by then, HMMT
- try out the USAMTS
Anything else I should consider, and how should I go about with studying? (Sorry if this whole thing is a little vague, I'm just lost right now and have like a gazillion ideas at once)
It looks like you already have a really solid plan! Try starting/joining a math club in your school, its generic but shows a decent amount of initiative. Get in contact with the math department of your local college. I'm sure some of the instructors there would be willing to help you conduct research or guide you to other good extracurriculars. Good luck!
I was chilling at home during a rainy weekend and got bored of streaming shows. I decided to try something new, like an online casino, but wanted one I could trust. To be honest, Colosseum Casino stood out with its clean layout and fun slots. This Canadian site has sweet deals like match bonuses and free spins, plus their support is super fast if you need help. It was a fun way to pass the time and kept me hooked.
