How can I improve my extracurricular profile?

Many students focus heavily on grades and test scores, but top U.S. universities also place a strong emphasis on extracurricular involvement. What kinds of activities stand out in college applications? How can students demonstrate leadership, impact, or passion through their extracurriculars? I’m looking for guidance on building a strong, balanced profile that aligns with my interests and strengthens my application.

Good question, I would look at the college/s you're interested in and see what they value. Use that and make connections to your hobbies or classes. Do you play music? Clarify how much you practice and where you learned.

Art? Is it digital or traditional, what do you like to create?

Outdoor activities would be fantastic too, does your family go camping? Hunting? Fishing?

What about sports or martial arts, they show that you are determined, have leaderships skills, and can work hard.

Try to find something niche, it will make you stand out, origami, woodworking, model painting and fashion for example.

If you don't have those (I know how you feel) use your classes or clubs. A debate club is a great place to learn impact and passion. A health class can teach you patience. A gaming club can teach you strategy or teamwork depending on the games you play. That sort of thing. I hope this helps!
