So I am applying to Brown and Cornell and my counselors have not sent my LORs to those 2 colleges. I am wondering if there is a grace period in which required materials can be sent or if I am doomed because of this.
There is likely not an official grace period per se, but colleges are sympathetic. They will understand that if your teachers are sending in their letters late, it's not your fault and it will not reflect poorly on you.
So as jen said there is no official policy of accepting late letters but especially in this pandemic age they will allow for circumstances. So you arent doomed because of it but if there are circumstances that affected your counselors timeline ask him/her to mention it.
Hope this helps.

Both answers are correct. Colleges will generally be understanding if this is late, as you can't control when your counselor sends their letter. You can always contact the admissions office to let them know what happened. Best of luck!
