Can I re-read my essay before it is reviewed?

I just want to reread it and start editing even without the comments

I don't think so if you already submitted the essay for review. You should be able to look at your essay after it is done being reviewed but next time you should write your essay on some other application like google docs or microsoft word and copy and paste it onto the peer review so that you can edit your essay before your review is complete.
