Should I take AP classes oversummer for the sake of a higher GPA?

Hello, I am really confused on this, as there seems to be ways for me to take AP classes over summer, like from BYU online courses, and an AP class is weighted for me so my GPA would be better(aiming for valedictorian), so would doing paying for them and doing more AP classes be necessarily good or bad?

Does your school accept credit from outside summer programs? And is ranking at your school based on weighted or unweighted GPA? I say to go for it if you want, but still be aware that even summer AP classes may not be easy As, plus you have to pay for it.
