What are your summer plans?
It’s getting warmer and summer is quickly approaching! That got me thinking and I'm curious to know what everyone's college application goals are for this summer. If your answer doesn't fit one of the options make sure to let us know what you're doing in the comments.
Probably advancing my non-profit, doing soccer programs, and scoring some marketing and sales internships.
Those are big plans! How do you plan on approaching getting an internship? I know they can be hard to snag - especially now. Mind sharing what your non-profit does?
I will likely resort to cold-emailing, and generally searching for opportunities. My non-profit provides low income kids an opportunity to be mentored and tutored about STEAM subjects. It also holds workshops, classes, career day, and more!
@McKellarr that's awesome!
@McKellarr love the dedication and your non-profit sounds awesome. And if I'm remembering right from other posts you're only a freshman? Keep crushing it!
@ShaquilleOatmeal yes I am a freshman, soon to be sophomore! @crazyblob thanks!
Doing some volunteering, taking summer chem, studying for my SAT, doing other extracurriculars.. and hopefully getting this internship!!
I am attending a residential program this summer!
Nice! Care to share what program or what you'll be doing?
Yes!! It is the Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program, a pretty cool program for juniors in KY :)
Cool! I'm also doing a Governor's School - just the NJ one. Although mine's remote... :(
Awwww man :(, I hope it’s better than you think!!
Thanks, haha :)
Upskilling myself by learning latest technologies!
Any specific technologies? I could probably benefit from the same thing...
I chose the EC profile because technically I am by attending different summer programs I got accepted to. However, I would also be working and trying to get a head start so it is going to be a busy summer for me! :)
