Admissions Advice

Scholarship and financial aid
Answered

So after going through a lot of different unis scholarship criteria for international students, it has come to my attention that first up they look at you gpa and grades and then do a holistic review. So, being a junior I have set a certain mark for myself so that my unweighted gpa at the end of my senior year should be above 3.9. A lot of these unis give scholarships to all applying and admitted students regardless of your citizenship status.

Will it be a good idea to apply to some prestigious unis which only offer financial aid and are need-aware for international students? Keeping in mind my ecs are pretty good and there are some wow factors per-se.

I wouldn't completely avoid need aware schools. My fav is and after they explained why it made sense but it can differ for other schools. I would look into what they say about the policy and then decide of it is worth applying.

If they are schools you are interested in attending and you can afford the application costs then I don't see why not. Depending on how prestigious you are talking you might want to consider some on this list: https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/the-short-list-college/articles/universities-that-offer-international-students-the-most-financial-aid. They offer pretty good aid for international students
