foreign language class
Answered

I didn't take foreign language class in freshmen year but I took AP class instead. Will this affect my admissions chances negatively?

I wouldn't say it would negatively affect your college admission chances because you took an AP class instead. I do know that some colleges have a requirement of taking a certain amount of years of foreign languages, but I don't know which. But taking foreign language classes can enhance or increase your chances of getting admitted, since it shows you are a well-rounded student. Overall, I'd say take a foreign language class even if you think you won't do too good, because it shows you're up to a challenge and well-rounded.

A lot of schools do require you to take four years of foreign language, so it really depends where you are applying. If you are looking at playing a sport in college (D1) then unfortunately, you really don’t have a chance.
