How do I demonstrate interest in a college?
Answered

I am applying ED-1 to a small LAC college. I have attended a Virtual College Tour and a Virtual Info Session. I am also registered in their mailing list. Is there any other way I can demonstrate interest in the college?

Hey!

Great question. You can also show demonstrated interest by connecting with a student on campus or speaking with the admissions officer for your region. Take a look at the college's website and see if they have options like those. You can also take an in person tour if that is possible for you and allowed for the college! Hope this is what you're looking for!

First you got to check if the college even cares about demonstrated interest, cause I know not all do. if they do, then you should attend the different types of virtual tours by registering on their website so they can keep track of which you attended. Also, if possible, you should attend their in person camp/admission tours and talk with that college's admissions counselor in your region (you can most likely find out that on their website). These are all the ways that I know of.

Hey @unior! Great question! Demonstrated interest can certainly help your ED admission chances and help showcase some of the actions you've taken. Traditionally, students would attend in-person/virtual tours, connect with admissions or register for perspective student events. Registering for their mailing list and connecting with the counselor in your region, like your peer mentioned in their response, is also a great way to show interest.

Since COVID, I've also seen students follow schools on their social media accounts and attend any live info sessions hosted on these platforms. They have had the chance to chat with deans, admissions or program directors!

I hope these help!
