Hello everyone!I am an international student.I am from Bangladesh.I wanna study in the top US universites or Ivy League like Harvard,MIT,Stanford,Yale,UCB,UCLA.My gpa and other necessary things are excellent/strong.But my ECA(Extra curricular activities) maybe not so good enough.I didn't own any international award.I heard that without any national or international award it is not possible to got to these types of university. Is it true? Isn't there any chance to get a chance from these university for me?I know that this is so competitive and tough to get into.
national awards/achievements aren't a prerequisite for elite colleges, although they do help! however, don't be discouraged :-). I personally know a few people who are "average" and have no awards but have still gotten into elite schools. It's all about your whole application and how you present yourself to the admission counselors :-)
Yeah! you heard it right. You must have participated or won any of the national or international level of competition in any of the field but it would be way greater if you achieved something nationally or internationally in your field of interest. In examples:- IMO , ISO, NSO , and other Olympiads or in athletes like basketball, karate , tennis and in indoors games like Rubik's national/international competition , in chess , etc. You must have done or completed any research/project related to your field of study. These are for top universities as you have mentioned or asked for.
