I am currently learning Japanese on Duolingo app. How do I inculcate that into my application? Should I add it?

Since learning a language on an app isn't a measurable or official activity, I wouldn't include it. Have you done any Japanese language competitions or clubs at your school? Something like that might work. If not, maybe include why you like Japanese and how you decided to learn it yourself in an essay!

You should if you are fluent or semi-fluent in the language. If you are just a beginner, you probably shouldn't put it on your application. If you are fluent in any other languages, put those on there as well.

If you have any level of fluency yet, I might mention that, but saying that you're learning a language from an app might not stand out well. Some level of vocabulary/alphabet recognition might work though.
