Admissions Advice

If I write one of my UC essays about singing, and then another one about my choir leadership experience...

Would that be redundant? I would like to write about my choir leadership position and how I stood up for one of my peers but I am also writing about the importance of singing in my life. Would the admissions officers be bored of the frequency that I bring up choir in my application? (It is in my activities list as well)

Hi there @haloolime,

I agree with @HelloHome here - you should focus on different things within each essay. If one of your essays centers on the experience of singing and how it makes you feel, then the other should not include that as a focus. However, if you are just mentioning you are in choir but are focusing more on the leadership aspect/standing up for others, then the overlap should be minimal and you won't be submitting redundant information.

Hope this helps!
