Part-time job as extracurricular?

I started a part-time job as a bartender during the summer of my senior year that I am still working and plan to continue doing until I go away to college next fall. I got this job out of financial necessity - my parent and I had no other sources of income. Is it a bad idea to clarify this in my application (does it seem like I wouldn't have participated if I didn't have to, and is it negative)?

I would include it because it shows that you are someone who has initiative, determination and many other good qualities when faced with a challenging situations.

i would add this to your application because it shows how you balance school and a part time job as well as your responsibility to your family.
