Okay so for one of my activities I have Self Taught Language Learning. In this I include that I'm learning 3 languages. the description I have is:
Study Korean, Mandarin, Spanish independently with resources available: textbooks, dramas, music, websites; audio recordings to improve speaking
I was going to add that I have friends the speak these languages but I don't have enough words to put it. So I'm wondering if leaving that detail out would it be okay? I might be worrying for nothing haha! But if it is something I should add, how can I rearrange my description to fit it? Thanks so much!
I am going to start with I am not the most qualified to answer, but if I were you I would say something along the lines of:
I actively study Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish independently, and often practice speaking these languages with friends. I also immerse myself in the culture through tv and music.
Overall, this does not say much about your level of skill. If you are up to it, I suggest taking a fluency test of some sort. If you have another way of sharing your skill level that could help, maybe try that too? Nonetheless, it is impressive that you are studying them, bravo/a.
Indeed, this detail may not affect your skill's validity much, but if you can you should at least mention that you practice fairly regularly with other people. Overall I'd say that if you have listed the extent of your drills then you should not bother too much about this detail. Good luck, hope this helps.
maybe you could take fluency tests and report those instead of saying you study these languages?
You might be able to say, speaking conversationally, practicing speaking, etc. Basically the same thing in fewer words if that works. It's so cool that you speak all those languages!
