I have a 970 in my sat and a 3.8 weighted GPA. Should I turn in my test scores, should I not apply for schools that are not test optional or turn in my scores anyway.
Do not submit your SAT score because that is almost 100 pts below the national average of 1060.
For the schools that require test scores, only submit them and apply to them if your 970 is within the 50th percentile of the SAT range like 970-1160
But if it's like 1200-1400, not a good idea to even apply.
Good luck.
Hi!
First off, it is going to depend on what schools you apply to. You have to look up the average SAT score for that school. If your 970 is above the average, then sure, add it in! If it isn't, and your GPA makes you look stronger, then apply optionally. I would say though that do not let the fact that a school is not test-optional discourage you from applying. There are many schools that will be willing to overlook your SAT score if you are strong in all other areas. I would also recommend retaking your SAT if you have the time/ability/resources because that could also be helpful. Hope this helps, best of luck! :)
I would say that you should talk to your school counselor about your SAT score, your GPA is still very good for some universities.

What do you mean by 50th percentile, like 50th percentile of the college?
