Hi! I have a question about my EC. I have a deep interest in sports management and I wanted to have my EC along those lines. So, I created my own website and posted blog posts about my favorite athlete's ability. (Just like a scouting report!) I get about 60-70 views per month. I am also working on creating youtube videos about my favorite sport which is baseball. But I lack community service hours. I have almost none (I did some, but it was very little.) I tried to find a sports organization that may offer volunteer hours, but I failed. How should I incorporate my interest while also getting volunteer hours?
Hi @samuelh45! Your current extracurriculars sound great! Like @bendajew said, for community service, you could serve as an assistant coach for some sort of youth sports team. You could also see if there are any youth sports outreach organizations in your community or clubs at your school that have a sports and community service component. For example, here's a great opportunity: https://www.nwba.org/volunteer
Hope that helps!
The best thing I can think of is if you look for youth sports teams you can coach/assistant coach for without being paid. I think things like that could be counted for community service, especially if the sports league is controlled by a city or state government, not a private company.
