1460 SAT
Answered

Should I submit my 1460 SAT (superstore ) to Vanderbilt, Brown, and UPenn? I'm not sure if it would be better to submit or apply test-optional.

The breakdown is 720 English & 740 math.

My take on it.

If you have a hook like you are Black, LatinX, Indigenous or belong to a marginalized group like LGBTQIA+ or disabled, first generation college student or low income, then I would submit the 1460 to all 3 schools.

If you are an ALDC, (recruited athlete, Legacy, Development/Deans list, Child of faculty/staff), then I'd also submit the 1460 to all 3 schools.

If you have no hook and not an ALDC applicant, then I would not submit the 1460 because it's 20-30 points below the low number of the middle 50% percentile range for these schools.

3 years ago, a 1460 would be a great score but these days with test optional only those with very strong scores are submitting them and they tend to be in the 1500-1580 range.

Good luck with your decision!
