If I make an Engineering project with the help of a guide would that still be considered impressive?
Answered

I was thinking of make an engineering project. I was thinking to make a 3D printer, but with the help of a guide. I don't know if that would still be considered an impressive feat. Even if it is not considered impressive I am still going to make it because I need a 3D printer in my coming projects. Would it still be an impressive feat, if I take the help of a guide?

definitely! the fact that you are thinking about this and starting it yourself is already quite impressive, as most HS students aren't doing the same. it really makes you stand out. it's alright if you have a guide because you're going to have to learn how to the 3D printer one way or another.

Hi @Ayush! What a cool project! Building a 3D printer would be very impressive, even if it was done with help from a guide. When you mention this project on college apps, you can also focus on the things you've 3D printed after building the printer. For example, maybe you've had the opportunity to take on some cool projects because of your easy access to a 3D printer. Overall, I think it's a great project that will really highlight your engineering skills! Good luck!
