Please Help Me
Answered

In my teacher recs, my teachers wrote that I wanted to go into stem and be a doctor. However, I changed my mind and reported a very different major and career to the colleges. Will this discrepancy be confusing or hurt my chances at top colleges? My counselor says it will not but I am worried (please be honest)

Most likely not because 1/2 of college students change their majors anyway.

I wouldn't worry about this.

I'm under the impression that teacher recs typically are used to determine your work ethic, character, etc. bc of that, the discrepancy in major doesn't seem like a massive problem. That being said, with the more competitive schools, small issues like that could snowball and become the reason that they say no. At the end of the day, It really is going to come down to the specific college
