I was making a blog about innovations that are coming out right now, so I could inspire more people in STEM. This would help my community with learning more about current innovations and maybe also help others catch up on new current events. Would this be an interesting project to pursue?
Yes, I think that if it's something you have time for and are genuinely interested in, you should pursue it. It's a good way to showcase your initiative outside the classroom and your skill in site creation. Even further, if it gets bigger, it'll be a good opportunity to reach out and network to others for "interviews" or expand the blog to events, like online workshops. Outside of writing, think about how you can use blogging to show off honed skills, like marketing, networking, etc.
