How beneficial is AP ComSci Principles for a aspiring bio/neuroscience major?
Answered

I'm scheduling courses for next year (10th grade) and I was wondering if it would be beneficial to me to take AP Computer Science as a student with a strong biology and neuroscience focus. I want to spend the few open class spots I have on classes that will a) benefit me in the long run and b) be impressive to colleges/fit with the rest of my "spike", so I was just wondering if this course would be worth it.

I am also conducting an independent science research project, if this would make the course more/less beneficial.

Hello! Speaking from experience, I wanted to give you some advice.

For one thing, computer science is a super easy pathway that can get you financial stability and also does not take too much education. It's always good to have some computer knowledge for the future! As an aspiring psychology major, I'm glad I took a computer science class anyway.

Also, neuroscience is the study of the brain, but there is a LOT of technology involved in the work. A computer science course could really help you and improve your chances with neuroscience!!

Good luck!
