Answered

What are some competitions on the topic of CS(preferably more friendly to beginners, like ACSL and such) that have similar prestige as Ross and Promys have in math?

This CollegeVine article lists a few competitions that you can look into. Beyond that, I recommend searching for hackathons in your local/state community. Universities, governments, companies, and non-profits all sponsor them. I have heard from CS people that they are a lot of fun to participate in, and they certainly are prestigious. Hope this helps!
