I'm going on a college tour tomorrow and would like to speak to an applied physics program director. There's a problem: I have no idea what to ask. I've scoured the entire internet for info about the program and have spoken to alumni on Reddit about their experiences. I know almost everything there is to know about the program, but I don't want to miss this opportunity. What should I do?
Hi @GreenLeaf1!
I'd need to know some info about the school to give you specific advice. But in general, you should be able to find info on the program director just by looking up "[school name] [department] program director." If a name doesn't immediately pop up, then that person might have a different/broader job title (e.g. "Director of Undergraduate Studies"), or those duties might fall more under the department chair.
I'd talk to a representative of the college to find out who can best answer your questions and what their availability would be. "Program director" is a very specific administrative role, and there's probably other faculty/administrators who could answer your questions just as well.
Hope that helps!
