Question about scholarships/financial aid
Answered

Hey guys, I'm a little confused about how financial aid works. On the "financial aid" section of one of the colleges I applied to, I received a loan. Is that it? No grant or anything? Are they gonna give more financial aid or is that it?

There is also another college I applied to and received admission for but I have not accepted nor rejected it. Am I still going to get financial aid offers from them or do I have to accept the admission first in order to receive financial aid offers?

Also, are there any scholarships I should apply to?

If this helps in some way, 4.1 GPA, 1430 SAT, Lead-Position in a school club, E.C's, etc.

I'm just super confused about all this

No one here would be able to answer your questions because you didn't disclose which colleges you applied to nor what the small print on the college decisions states about your finaid package.

The only thing you can do it contact each school's financial aid office and ask them in person whether your loan is the extent of the financial aid and if the other school is going to forward you a finaid package.

If your a looking for merit based scholarships to pay for your college, those are typically attached to the colleges you are applying to. There are certainly some merit based scholarships out there but you need to research them. Most of them have closed already for this year.

Good luck.
