I took a dual enrollment class for criminal behavior and victimology. I'm considering going into a a public safety career, but if I don't, will that class count towards a humanities credit? Or will it not count at all?
Credit policies vary between colleges, but in general, you will receive credit for classes that are similar to the community college classes you took. This means that colleges will likely only give you credit for classes related to criminal behavior and victimology.
Even if you don't continue a public safety track, these credits still could come in handy to complete your elective requirements. By your senior year of studying most majors, you will usually be finished with your major requirements and core classes, but you will still need to satisfy a credit requirement. Since almost any class can give you the credit you will need, you could use your dual enrollment credit to lighten your course load senior year. Hope this helps!
