thinking about doing bs/md program but not sure if my stats are competitive enough
Answered

I plan on taking AP BIO, AP PSYCH, AP STATS senior year and I already took APUSH and AP Lang. Don’t think this is enough tho

I’ve already volunteered at a oncology clinic and I’m thinking of volunteering at a hospital for senior year and doing a medical internship abroad this summer.

Any suggestions of what else I can do? I just realized that I had an interest in it (I’m in my last semester of 11th) and I think I might be too late

Read CV Expert @YeshDater 's blog posts about BS/MD programs. These will be the best source of information to help guide you on your journey.

My 2 cents is that BS/MD is not for everyone. If you change your mind 2 years in, you will have to take a hit because not all your coursework will be transferable into your new major. 2nd, not all Top Medical Schools offer this option. Brown might be the best one but other top schools like Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Stanford, UCLA, NYU, Cornell etc. do not offer this. 3rd, some top schools offer 100% free tuition like NYU so if your family has limited resources, its more practical to get a 4 year bachelors and free medical school if you can get in rather than accruing an extra $300,000 of debt.

Good luck.

According to https://blog.collegevine.com/which-aps-med-and-stem-programs/, AP Bio, AP Chemistry, and Calculus AP are some of the most beneficial classes for a BS/MD program. If you have a school guidance counselor, you could likely talk to them to see what you should do. They could likely tell you about what other classes you should take. I'm also a junior in high school, so an educated professional may be the best source of advice.

Joining the National Honors Society or another well-known club may be helpful as well.
