I am a current junior, graduating 2023. I have a 3.8 GPA and I am guessing I will get a pretty decent score on the SAT next thursday (I got 1240 on my PSATs). I am really interested in taking computer science as my major in college, but I am not sure if it's right for me. I like math, but I am not a genius in it by far. The little coding I have done I have enjoyed immensely, but I don't do much of it. If I practice hard over the summer to try to catch up would I be able to get into a good college as a computer science major?
Hello,
Computer science isn't just coding, there are many other factors to it as well, this includes:
1. Software Developer
2. Web Developer
3. UX Designer
4. Mobile App Developer
5. IT Project Manager
and there are so many more job options for computer science.
Pick the right career that YOU imagine yourself in.
Good luck.
Absolutely! As they say, practice makes perfect-- so keep going for it! There are so many opportunities in the Computer science field, and even if you go to college and are not too excited about it-- the skills from coding translate into so many fields and are invaluable in the eyes of employers!
