Last year for the Class of 2025 Pomona admitted 771 from a record pool of 11620, for a admit rate of 6.6% (Class of 2025) down from 8.6% (Class of 2024). This year I expect the total application pool to be about 12,200 about 5% increase.
This means the 736 they accepted come from a slightly larger pool of 12200 for an admit rate of 6.03% for the Class of 2026.
This trend is following my previous expectations that admit rates at all the Ivys/Elites/Top LACs are moving downward. I think the current floor for Ivys/Elites is 3% and LACs about 6%. But that can easily move down a notch to 2% for schools like Harvard/Caltech in 3 years and 5% for Top LACs.
