I am a sophomore in high school who is taking a dual credit math course next year, and I want to make sure the schools I want to go to (Cal Poly SLO) will accept credits from the school I'm taking the class at (Waubonsie Community College). Does anybody have advice for this?
So currently I also do dual enrollment so I'm in this situation to, but I'm trying to apply mine to an Associates and maybe even a bachelors which I'd need a transferable degree for. You should talk to a counselor at the college about whether or not they accept the credits because sometimes they're picky or don't transfer completely on your transcripts
Neither your HS counselor or your CC counselor will be able to give you a bullet proof answer. The only way to be 100% sure is to contact the college (s) you are applying to and ask them if they a.) give DE credit as a proxy for college credit at their institution and b.) what the grade cutoffs for credit consideration are.
If you are not satisfied with the answer, then the best bet for you is to either sign up for AP Classes and get the threshold test scores like a 4 or 5 depending on the college or sign up for a Math course at a Top 100 university online that is reputable.
Good luck.
This is a really hard question and one that can change. The best way to answer this is to talk to a community college counselor to see how recognized their credits are to other schools. You should also call the schools you want to go to and ask them. They are normally very helpful and can quickly answer questions like these.

Thank you very much. Is this something I would email the college's admissions office, or is there another place I should send an email to?
