Advice on how or where to learn good methods of application essay writing?
Answered

I am starting the process of writing and thinking about college application essays and was wondering where I can find things to include vs what not to. Also, what makes a good application essay.

To me, thinking of an experience that is unique to YOU is really the key to getting ideas and topics flowing. What are you passionate about? What can you talk about for hours on end? Do you have an experience that showed a tremendous amount of growth? Make sure you don't write about COVID (universal experience), or if you're applying to play a sport, do not talk about the time you won the game-winning point. Your coaches already know enough that they need to know about you in terms of sports, so think of something authentic.

Honestly if you google it you can find a ton of great websites and channels devoted entirely to college essay writing. https://www.collegeessayguy.com/ is a site I've found particularly helpful

I have not yet written mine yet but what I have been doing is being in constant collaboration and communication with my English teacher to get helpful tips and ideas. They are great for helping with this kind of thing if you are a good student.
