Next year I plan on taking AP Lang, AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry&Lab, Spanish II Honors, Creative Writing Honors, and JROTC. Senior year, I'm going to take AP Lit, APUSH, AP Environmental Science&Lab, AP Spanish, Dual Enrollment Algebra, and JROTC. However, I'm wondering if I should take APUSH in junior year and take Creative Writing Honors senior year. Would that make me more competitive? Or would it just burn me out?
Most people take APUSH their junior year. Also, it is recommended to take more AP's your junior year than senior year since you can have a "last minute" gpa boost and colleges tend to look at your sophomore and junior year grades more. Senior year grades are just to see if you are still keeping up that rigor. If you feel like you are going to burn out junior year, than you are better off not taking it junior year because if you do burn out, your gpa may drop. Someone in my class took US History at a community college instead of taking APUSH so if that works for you then sure! I see a lot of people stressing out about how many APs to take and worry about not being competitive enough. By the looks of it, you'll be taking 7 AP classes! You are going to okay! The classes you take are just one portion of your application. You still have ECs, essays, letters of recs, test scores, etc. You'll be fine!
if I were you I would do APUSH in your junior year so that you can send the test score to colleges. However, if history isn't your thing and you'd rather not report your score on the exam, leave it for senior year!
It depends on your workload in other classes. Listen to yourself; if your telling yourself you're too tired, take APUSH in senior year. If you think you can do it take it in your junior year because taking Creative Writing Honors in your senior year could help your college chances (depending on where your go, and for what program). Hope this helps.

Thanks! I was kind of worried about the homework because I know I need to do extracurriculars as well. However, I think I can do it. My friend is also going to take APUSH, AP Lang, AP Calculus AB, and AP Chemistry with me. Besides, I'm good at history.
