NorthEastern's Independent Newpaper confirms its 6.79% admit rate !!!

Earlier I wrote that Satyajit Dattagupta, the CMO of Tulane who single handedly implemented a marketing plan that put Tulane on the map as a 10% admit school even though many of its peers had 20-25% admit rates, moved to NorthEastern. Obviously he hit the ground running this Winter because NorthEastern did something very bold and unprecedented. It MORE than halved the admit pool from the last 2 cycles of 13829 and 13199 to 6179, dropping it's admit rate to the level of Dartmouth, Cornell, Amherst and JHU.

The application pool for the Class of 2026 was 90989 about 50% more than it was 2 or 3 cycles ago.

While I personally think that most T50 schools are positively correlated with their rank and admission rate, I do think both Tulane and NorthEastern remain outliers to me which defy logic. They are ranked #42 and #49 which I completely agree with. I just think their admit rate of 7-10% will confuse a lot of HS Students.

While my argument is my own, I do think some of you will understand why I would recommend applying #38 William & Mary with a 35% admit rate or #42 Case Western with a 25% admit rate or #49 Villanova with a 23% admit rate if you are trying to focus on getting into the Top50 best colleges that still have reasonable admit rates.
