Hi! Can I put online courses in my extra-curricular activities?

Hi! I am an incoming international senior student, and I'm planning to go to the U.S. for college. I started doing online courses this month through Coursera. I took Introduction to Calculus, Anatomy, and Chemistry. Can I put those online courses as extra-curricular activities for my application? Thank you!

Yeah! If they are kinda good. You should have a Certificate of participation in Competitions with awards!

Yes! You should definitely do so. If you get even more interested in online classes, you should look at EdX. They have fantastic courses from world-renowned colleges and universities. They also sell (semi-cheap) certification programs that prove you have completed their programs. I would recommend checking them out if you really want to bring this to the next level.

Those should count because they were taken through a third party rather than through your school. Like the other person said, certificates of completion are useful if asked for proof. Good luck!
